Despite only forming in November 2022 Gulf Medical Education has already been very active with a paediatric symposium on Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and the recently completed first Managing Difficult Airways in Paediatrics course
This event covered all aspects of this complex disease from foetal diagnosis, foetal interventions, immediate neonatal management, surgical and anaesthesia management, post op intensive care and use of ECMO.
With 80 attendees from all specialities it was extremely successful and the networking and knowledge sharing the most quoted highlights of the event.
A fully hands on course blending a unique mix of interactive lectures, video sessions, practical team work exercises and a whole afternoon of skill stations.
Skill stations covered advanced airway skills and adjuncts, video laryngoscopy, front of neck access, flexible video bronchoscopy and ICU bronchoscopy and sampling.
Fully endorsed by Difficult Airway Society UK
A full day symposium bringing together all the experts involved in the care of these babies and children.
We will follow the whole patient journey from foetal diagnosis, innovative foetal interventions, anaesthetic management of a neonate, immediate neurosurgical management, urological concerns, orthopaedic interventions including limb and spine, neurology and general paediatric issues finishing with transition into teenage life.
This is a truly unique approach to the topic putting the patient and the disease at the centre and then bringing all the specialists together under one meeting to truly understand the roles and responsibilities of each other and how to plan integrated care for these remarkable patients.
We have many upcoming courses, symposia and events covering all aspects of medical and nursing education. Keep checking back on the website - new events being added all the time!
Procedural Ultrasound Courses in Babies and Children
We felt there was a need to address teaching common procedures in children using ultrasound guided techniques. Whilst there are a number of courses in adults there is a need for courses focussed on children and more procedural rather than diagnostic.
In our course planned for Sept 2024 we will be covering the following topics using expert tutors from leading children's hospitals around the world including Birmingham Children's, Alder Hey and Evelina Hospitals in the UK :
Peripheral venous access
Central venous access
Midlines and PICC lines

Basic Echocardiography
Peripheral nerve blocks
